Pam, who has been working part-time, had her job recallsified to full time. Its a mixed blessing, as Pam liked her 3-day-a-week job and its flexible scheduling. On the other hand, it will result in an increase in pay, as they raised her hourly rate as well. Pam goes full-time on March 16.
Pam has been working from home a few hours a week. Not only is this more productive, but it saves on commuting costs. HR was not happy about continuing this arrangement, arguing that Pam did not have the “status” needed to get this “perk”. There is not policy about it; supervisors generally make the decision, but a new HR director is trying to establish her turf and Pam had to get 8 signatures on a document to do the same thing she has been doing for more than a year! Pi@@ed Pam off, it did!
