Well, I am back to bandages on the nose.
The last trip to the dermatologist resulted in a session of “dermal abrasion” to smooth the edges of the skin graft and – eventually – blend the graft and skin color into the rest of the nose. It hurt like heck. Not the abrasion itself, but the needles used to inject the local anesthetic. The nose did not feel all that great after the anesthetic wore off, either. I hope this is the last session I need!
For what it’s worth, the tool used by the doctor looks like an engraving bit used in a Dremel tool. It looked something like this, but a little rougher:

Your “nose work” sounds a little too much like Becky’s summer floor work — grind & sand, then stain, and I’d guess the next trip would be a “wax & polish”…
I imagine the finished product will be even more sensitive to the sun!
Toby’s apartment sounds all too familiar — probably too warm or cold in mid-winter, and hot in the summer, plus more than a little cramped. Hopefully no “pests” — I remember roaches seemed to love that area of Indiana!
Depending on what this year brings us, the weekend snow fall may be the first of many — not much Spring or Fall in the high country. Hopefully a chance to get a bit further along on the driveway — if not, a couple of seasons to plan…
